    Internet of Medical Things (IMoT)

ASEAN countries face ongoing concerns about infectious diseases due to their tropical climate. ASEAN countries have a humid climate, and epidemics, especially Dengue fever, cause serious health problems for people. UNICEF notes a rise in Dengue fever infections across extensive parts of ASEAN due to climate changes. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health recently reported an increase in Dengue fever cases. As of mid-2025, Vietnam has reported 28,787 dengue cases with five deaths, while Singapore recorded 13,655 dengue fever cases in 2024, representing an increase from the previous year, representing a concerning public health challenge across the ASEAN region. Cambodia reported 7,058 dengue fever cases in the first half of 2024, marking a 10% year-on-year increase, while the first six months of 2025 saw this trend worsen with 8,803 total dengue cases, an increase of nearly 30% compared to the same period in 2024. This highlights the urgent need for innovative monitoring and prevention systems across the region. In recent years infections have been confirmed in a wide range of areas, including Japan, amid climate change. Strict monitoring of vital signs is crucial for Dengue patients. This requires joint efforts from different countries in the region.

This project aims to develop an Internet-of-Medical-Things (IoMT) system for contactless monitoring of Dengue fever via vital sign data acquisition and analysis based on signal processing and deep learning techniques.

Tensor decomposition (TD) is a powerful mathematical framework for analyzing high-dimensional and multi-way data, such as medical images, biomedical signals, and clinical measurements. Unlike conventional matrix-based methods, TD represents a tensor as a combination of lower-dimensional factor matrices or core tensors, enabling the extraction of latent structures while preserving the intrinsic multi-dimensional relationships within the […]
